How did I miss this?

Right. So it's a little late but. Rogue does not like people going in her head AT ALL. She totally bitches Jean out for it when it happens on accident even though Jean's powers were out of whack and she couldn't really help it. BUT she is totally ok with the Professor going in her head and talking to her and stuff because she trusts him. So once she finds out who you are she will basically give you blanket permission. It is just because you are a stranger right now [a stranger who kinda reminds her of the professor except he seems totally different so there's no way it could be him] that she freaked out.

Now on to the actual thoughts Rogue has:

So she does not remember anything before the age of four (including her bio parents), but canon never says its for any supernatural reasons so I think she just forget them. Or maybe repressed them who knows. She has super mommy issues, thanks to Mystique. And has a whole lot of trauma thanks to her powers. There is like this swirling black hole of hate for her powers and isolated feelings at not being able to touch people without hurting them and a huge fear that she might accidentally hurt one of her friends and what might happen if she held on too long. Also the Professor was helping her work on her control so expect that.

A story:

So there was this one time she went to this school dance and this boy asked her to dance and she was like sure whatever. Except this boy had stupid friends who thought hey lets push these two together. Except the boy ended up just falling on top of Rogue and when he tried to help her up she knocked him out and put him in a coma for three days. And then things got really confusing with Mystique making her think the X-men were trying to kill her, eventually leading to her joining the Brotherhood. :|b Which she is kinda ashamed of but she was totally tricked into it, and that's why she is automatically distrustful of people going in her head. She is also has angry feelings about being manipulated into doing things because that happens to her A LOT (and not all of it is because of her being mind-controlled. Thanks Mommy.)

So basically, Rogue has Mommy-issues, power/control-issues, issues with manipulation, and issues with people going in her head. She does not have shields and would not notice you going in there unless you do something obvious like making a comment on a thought or something. (Or using her name when she hasn't told you it.)

Oh wait I haven't even mentioned the psyches yet. They are there, but kinda in the back of her head and canon is unhelpfully vague about what exactly they are. So I am just playing them as these things that are there with vague floaty feelings in her head. They might get angry or not at people rooting around her head (but since there are only two I wouldn't worry about that one). She also has Gambit and Leech's memories floating around her head, but not in as much detail as when she had freshly absorbed them. They were her memories for a brief time, so some of them stick and she still has some of them, but not as much as the actual person does. If that makes sense. I figure the more time that passes the more she forgets their memories as well. Gambit's memories would just be skeevy thief things and Magneto shenanigans and Leeches are just normal kid memories with a little bit of having an overprotective mother and fear of being a mutant.
