Kazahaya shields like a bitch! It can be broken with physical contact, but that puts you at risk of setting up another Hisoka-esque feedback loop. I AM NOT DISCOURAGING THIS AT ALL! Also, he'll be open when he's taking another memory in -- so probably flickering. (He's pretty much what you see is what you get anyway unless you go really deep.)
Caeru has telepathic abilities mostly empathic, but doesn't really use them. He can share memories and emotions directly through sharing of breath (IE A KISS). He will respond mentally if prodded without much problems.
Shikamaru is a fucking walking computer bank of tactical strategies. This is not limited to just fighting -- he's constantly, constantly going through at least a half dozen options of "what will make my life the least bothersome". He works very hard at not being troubled by things. Ah, and it should be noted that he just went though a month of mental and physical torture with Hatter -- he'll be much more on alert mentally than usual, and probably not take well to probing.
Spitfire is open book. Genetically engineered blahblahblah you know his story.
Jack is open book. He's a fragment of soul who occasionally hangs out in the body of a 15 year old. Despite cheerful appareances, there's a hella lot of darkness in his memories.
