[ stands up, stepping in close to look down at him, his own mouth curving, though he's not touching yet ]

[ his right leg is jiggling a little, that pent-up energy of standing still, as he looks Erik square in the eyes ]

It won't be perfect. I could probably get it awfully close, eventually, with some work. But I'm not trying to fool anyone. And I'm actually using you a great deal, this is almost as much you as it is me.

[ nods, pauses a moment just long enough to start to edge into awkwardness, then takes a step back so he can hold out both hands to Erik, allowing him to pick the position of leading or following ]

[ leading, of course, though when he takes Charles in his arms and starts to move them, his leading is a little slower than with the others he's danced with tonight; he actually seems a little unsteady on his feet from cognitive dissonance, and he exhales a laugh ]

I probably could, though I hadn't wanted to, I'd need to actually mask your perception of your own power and then recreate it in relation to the presented environment, which, the base concept isn't new to me, of course, but I'd obviously never met anyone with your specific gifts before you-
